Hello Everyone!

We are finally back. Sorry it took so long.

We have been busy rebuilding this site. We have kept the same colour scheme and layout because we were happy with that. We have added a little more functionality now. You can now get this site in Dutch and we have added the ability to register. You need to register to download the photo's and video's. And we now have a page where people can leave comments, suggestions etc. We have added our weather as well, so you can keep up with the latest rain and temperatures. Hope you like our new site and please let us know if you have any suggestions, thank you.

On the 19th of April 2014 was the Mount Perry Show. This year Mount Perry State School had a choir and put on 2 concerts for the visitors at the show. Samantha is in the school choir and sang beautifuly. It was a shame not many of the choir turned up but it was a good concert anyway. The show ended with a very good fireworks show. Samantha thought they were great. You can see the video's of both concerts and the fireworks here.

On the 11th of July Samantha was tested to see if she knew her 12 indigo words. She was successful and has now been given her 14 violet words to learn. This means when she learns these words she will know the first 100 sight words. She is reading very well now and often needs no help to read her home work books. We are still very proud of her.

She received a certificate and a star badge for becoming a super star. All the super stars for 2nd term were given fun things to do on the last day of term. So Samantha got to make her own pizza for her lunch and she had fun doing some tie dye.

On the 19th of June we received Samantha's report card. Her performance was Very good to Satisfactory. The teacher made this overall comment at the end of the report.
"Samantha is willing to take part in all classroom activities. She can get very excited and enthusiastic about certain tasks and this can be seen on a Wednesday afternoon when the 5/6/7 class join us for buddy reading. Samantha still needs to be reminded that when the bell goes at the end of play time, it means to stop playing, go to the toilet and get a drink and then line up. Often she is late to class as she is still playing in the sandpit well after the bell has rung. I would like to see Samantha become more involved in classroom discussion and gain the confidence to ask for help when she needs it."
Members can read all the comments by downloading a copy of the full report from here.

On the 18th of June Samantha was tested to see if she knew her 16 orange words. She was successful and has now been given the next group of words. This means she now has to learn the 12 indigo words. We are very proud of her.

Samantha gets homework (reading a book and learning sight words) and loves to do it every night. She gets a new library book of her choice every Tuesday and can't wait to read it. This makes for a lot of homework for us too. You can view more pictures of Samantha's first day at school here.
